1. Bring a big name to the party. If you have little name recognition organize a panel around a topic and call in a favor from Bill Gates or other notable friend, client, customer or vendor by creating your own panel. Pitch the "ready made" panel, which includes yourself of course, to the conference organization. They have less work, and you get more editorial control over the discussion. Big names draw big crowds. All conferences like big names.

2. Create a catchy title: Even if you have a big name on your panel, an unexciting panel title and no mention of the big name will not be as interesting to the conference planner. Take a page out of the entertainment industry. Would people rather watch "Desperate Housewives" or the same program titled "Five Bored Housewives on Wisteria Lane?

Here are some example questions used within the IR56 test:

* Do you have a "manager" at the client who tells you what to do, how to do it and when to do it?

* Are working hours fixed both in terms of when and for how long you work?

Any increase in property value gets eaten up by the fees and customary costs associated with selling a home. There were many on all sides of the transaction who were deliberately refusing to take a closer look at what was obviously too good to be true. Now it is looking to be up to all of us to make up for their lack of diligence and foresight.

Yes, there are those out there who were taken advantage of by unscrupulous and fraudulent agents and lenders. Yes, there are otherwise responsible and hard working people who have fallen into difficult times despite their best efforts at prevention. These people do need, and deserve, our help and protection. However, I would be Fantastic Four based on my experience, if this was more than a minority of the current and pending foreclosures and delinquencies. The media has told many biased and slanted sob stories, but if you ask questions and look between the lines, the real story is all too clear. You cannot "save" one group while condemning the others. It is up to ALL of us to display responsible behavior and to take reasonable actions to safeguard our individual and collective future.

Think Twice Before Dissolving

Two Important Keys to a Successful Business-Integrity and Reputation

As a business owner and coach, I come across the issue of building integrity and reputation on a daily basis. It is something I feel strongly about, as who can build a business without integrity and a good reputation. As business owners, we know that if we want repeat business and referrals (both of which are the foundation of growing our business) then we need to American Girls collection integrity and reputation in everything we do. Now, this may sound like common sense, but sometimes business owners forget these 2 important key concepts and make a mistake. That one mistake, lets call it a step forward, can take their business back 20 steps. From time to time, it may take them so far back that they wont be able to recover and their business will fold. So how can we, as business owners ensure that we are continually moving forward in building our integrity and reputation in a positive light? Actually, if we remember a few simple rules, then we can continue to build and grow.

Rule 1- Always be timely.

I know, this sounds like common sense, but how many times have Hopalong Cassidy been told something, and it has not been carried through. For example, you ordered a birthday present and it was promised you would receive it in 2 days (1 day before the birthday), and then not received it for 4 days. Now you dont have the gift to give because someone was not timely. This is a simple example but I as a business owner live by this rule. In fact, if I tell someone I will have their project to them by a certain time, I shoot for 24 hours before. Why do I do this? What happens if I plan to send it to them when it is due, but oops, my hard drive crashes? They dont get the project on time-even though it was finished in advance, and it puts them behind. This does not help my integrity or reputation, and it will probably affect if the client will do business with me again, or not.

Now, all of us understand that acts of God can interfere with our work or we can make a mistake (after all, we are all human). Its bound to happen sometime. So what do we do?

Rule 2- Always be honest.

This is a hard rule to live by, because sometimes you are so ashamed of your mistake, you dont want to admit your foolishness. Do you charge for your mistakes to be fixed? Absolutely not! It is not your client/customers fault that there was a mistake! How did I fix my big mistake? My client did not have to pay out a dime for my mistake. I took full blame and then went the extra step to fix the mistake. Now these are just 3 rules to help you along the way in your business. There are many more things we must do to build our integrity and reputation, but if you follow these 3 rules, you will not take those 20 steps backwards, but go 20 steps forward.

Many clients new to hypnotherapy are surprised to discover that going into a hypnotic state is a skill. Some clients find it is a challenge to allow themselves to "let go" into the altered state. Moving into a guided trance requires the clients to trust both themselves and the hypnotherapist; and developing that trust can take time. There is usually also a need for the hypnotherapist to educate the client about the myths and misconceptions of hypnosis so once the client is engaged in the trance experience he will have an educated basis for determining if he has achieved a hypnotic state. This preparation and education phase can take several sessions and some experimentation with hypnotic techniques and approaches before a client experiences success.

Over the twenty-five years I have trained hypnotherapists and worked with individual clients, I have sought out many alternatives to formal hypnotic inductions as a way to assist clients in working with their subconscious resources for transformation and healing. I strive to empower and support clients who find it difficult to trust themselves and their experience (or lack of experience) in the hypnotic state and commonly suggest to them early on in the therapy alternative approaches to working in trance states. One approach which proves to be evocative, playful , highly creative and is completely self-guided by the client is Sandplay Therapy. Originally developed by Margaret Lowenfeld in the 1930's for use with children in play therapy, sandplay therapy is currently used with adults, families, corporations and communities. Sandplay therapy is empowering, self-directive and gentle--yet deeply propelling as a transformational vehicle.

In the traditional form of sandplay therapy the therapist provides a waterproof tray approximately 18" wide x 28" long x 3" deep painted blue on the bottom and sides. The tray is half- filled with fine high-grade sand and the therapy room is equipped with shelves which hold a myriad of aesthetic, quality miniature figures. Included in a collection are small trees, plants and people from all races, cultures and periods of history; prehistoric, wild and domesticated animals from all over the world; materials from nature such as rocks, moss, shells, crystals, wood, driftwood and pine cones; and marbles, beads and baubles. A collection also includes toy cars, trains, boats, planes, wagons and other vehicles of travel; cross cultural spiritual and archetypal figures, symbols and icons; as car donation charity as miniature figures and objects from daily life. Structures and dwellings from all historical periods and cultures, bridges, fences, towers, and caves are represented in the collection as well as cartoon and fantasy figures that are common in our culture. In the traditional sandplay process the client creates a series of scenes or worlds in the sand by sculpting the dry or wet sand and placing the objects chosen from the shelves in the tray. The therapist's role is to provide, as Dora Kalff emphasizes in her book Sandplay, a "free and protected space" and to support the client in dealing with any content or emotions that the sandplay evokes. In the traditional approach, the therapist has little or no interaction during the session and provides no interpretation of the tray, but rather waits until the full series of the trays has been completed. At a later time the therapist shows he client slides or videos of the trays in sequence as a map of the client's healing, integration and individuation process.

Sandplay approaches have evolved over the years to be used as an interactive process similar to hypnotherapy. In this more active approach, sandplay can be used for inner child work, parts therapy, dream work, past life therapy, problem solving, anchoring, learning and memory enhancement. A client's organizing of the figures in the tray is a metaphor for reorganizing one's consciousness. Clients may move figures around to tell a narrative story or use voice dialogue in psychodrama as figures tell their personal stories. In contrast to the private inner experience of hypnotherapy however, the symbolic work is created outside the client in full view.

When the client is a child, sandplay therapy is especially appropriate. A child relates to the world primarily through his body and sandplay gives the child the opportunity to engage in the therapeutic process in an active kinesthetic way. He can "show" rather than "tell" and allow the subconscious feelings and experiences to spontaneously emerge through play. The "hypnosis" happens in front of the child in the sand, rather than only within the child, giving both the client and therapist access what to before was information or content which was most likely inexpressible by the child. It is the process of engaging in the creative play which is healing. Expressing through symbols, personal maps of experience, metaphors or stories allows the client to become a witness to himself and give him a concrete and direct experience that he is the creator of his own world or experience. Simply observing one's own process in the box of sand can be tremendously releasing and freeing, giving the client perspective and an experience of not being the problem, but witnessing the problem.

Very much like in hypnosis, sandplay engages the power of suggestion. If a client creates an experience of a potential solution to a problem in the sand, the solution becomes imprinted as a future positive response for the client in his daily life. The memory of the tray or a photo of the creation becomes a post-hypnotic anchor or cue not only for the potential solution to a problem, but also gives the client a way to emotionally have a new and positive relationship to the problem.

Also, sandplay, like hypnotherapy, induces the client into an altered state of consciousness where the subconscious mind becomes a active player and resource in the therapeutic dance. The self-directed ritual of preparing the sand, choosing the objects and focusing on creating the scene in the sand functions very much like a hypnotic induction and deepening process where the subconscious is more accessible. As in non-directive hypnotherapy, when creating the sandtray the client may choose to focus on a specific issue or concern or to allow the subconscious to spontaneously guide the focus of the session and the focus of the tray. Often a client will have no conscious awareness of what he is creating until he sits back to take in his scene in the tray.

Most importantly, sandplay is highly creative, even for people who believe they aren't creative and it is deliciously fun. Creating sandtrays bring to the forefront issues that need transformation and assist the client in accessing the healing source from within.

Basically, Jakks EyeClops Night Vision Goggles let you see in total darkness, for 90% less cost Dark Knight traditional night vision goggles. Typically you'd pay $500 and up, and here you have Jakks offering them for $80. At first, I couldn't believe that they would work. Anyway, I ended up buying them for my 10 year old, Aiden. He is having a blast playing with them, and so am I.

Honestly, at first I was disappointed with how they worked, Barbie and Ken I asked Cerebus traditional night vision goggles and realized that night vision has its limitations, no matter how much you spend.

For one thing, it's kind of weird that your vision comes from the center eyepiece mounted on your
forehead like a third eye. What I mean to say is that normally you see things through your eyes, but the eyeclops "sees" through it's 3rd eye that's mounted about 4 inches up and to the left of your right eye. This is a bit disorienting when you first use the device, but my son got used to it pretty quickly.

Another thing is that the field of vision is much smaller than your normal, 180 degree field of vision, but I learned that that's just one of the limitations of night vision itself, no matter what device you're using.

A final difficulty is that since you have a smaller field of vision, and you're only seeing in infrared through one eye (the right eye) (and yes, this IS typical in expensive night vision goggles as well), you lose a bunch of depth perception. The moral here is that you don't want to go running around in infrared mode - you'll smash into stuff.

It's funny, I learned from reading about pirates on Mythbusters that the reason they wore a patch over one eye was because if they were in a sword fight and had to go below deck where it's dark, they could take the patch off their patched eye and that eye would be ready to see in darkness and they wouldn't be night blinded. Same premise with the eyeclops night vision goggles - since you're only seeing in the dark with 1 eye, the other eye is ready to see in normal light anytime.

On these glasses, there's 2 night vision modes - one is 100% stealth (no one can see you) and the other one gives you better viewing but throws off a faint infrared light from the goggles themselves, so you're not 100% invisible.

The EyeClops night vision goggles DO work very well, and for the price, they're amazing. When I tried them, I walked around our house in the darkness and could easily see my way around, so they DO work.

If you have kids (especially boys) and if you have any mischief in your heart, I think you'll really like this toy. They're definitely worth it, and you can see lots of stuff you've never seen before. I heartily recommend them as a Christmas 2008 gift (since we're close to Christmas).

The more rare a piece of art the higher the demand, and the higher the retail price. Simple supply and demand. Animation art in all forms was once just considered a byproduct of the final film. As such, they held no value and were thrown away or the cels were wiped clean from the acetate and the acetate was reused.

Almost every studio at some point either sold the original art as novelty gifts for pennies or they gave them away as promotional items. In the early 1980's, studios rediscovered the concept of selling their ORIGINAL artwork, and there was an instant demand. They began to authenticate each new piece with a seal. Buyers were then assured of the authenticity of each piece and the studios were able to archive the art and control distribution.

As prices for vintage material continued to grow, studios started to increase prices for contemporary material as well. The prices of some contemporary pieces have now risen to those of vintage pieces. But there is one major difference between vintage and contemporary pieces - the number of existing vintage pieces is low and Cerebus never increase. What is on the market today, aside from what current owners have, is what exists. The number of pieces of contemporary art, on the other hand, continued to rise until recently when computer animation started gaining ground. Each studio has hundreds of thousands of pieces in their archives!

Primary characters command a higher price simply because they are more popular. But prices can vary wildly even for the same character from the same film from the same sequence. Cels applied to production backgrounds are also more expensive, but less than those applied to key-master backgrounds. Production backgrounds have actually been used in production but not with the same character in the cel. You will see the cel you own in a film, and you will see the production background you own in a film, but you will not see them together in the same scene.

Laser / copy backgrounds add artistic value to a cel, but are not actual backgrounds. These are reproductions of the original key-master background applied as a background to the original cel.

Some collectors seek pieces that are signed by someone involved with the studio or the animation of the film, such as directors, animators, and voice actors. Signed pieces combine two collectibles - autographs and animation art - and as such can be much more expensive than unsigned pieces. Remember that rarity is also a factor in autograph pieces.

The last factor that determines price is condition. Cels are fragile. Many have been repaired in the past (not unusual) and still command a high price. Still others have been trimmed and applied to other backgrounds with adhesive. Depending upon the rarity of the piece these may still command top dollar. Keep your collection in a dry area out of direct sunlight and us only acid-free matting and backing to maintain the value for years to come.

But first, before you invest in a full one-ounce krugerrand or a mini krugerrand, beware of hoaxes! It is untrue that the Shroud of Turin - believed by some to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ, contains images of coins over the body's eyes that appear amazingly similar to mini krugerrands! Also, there is no such thing as a silver krugerrand; check your facts with a reputable coin dealer before investing in any type of coin collecting.

Briefly, the South African krugerrand was the first one troy ounce gold coin that could be used as legal tender at the market value of its face gold content. By law, krugerrands must be sold at premiums of no Hopalong Cassidy than one percent above the market price of gold at the time of sale. Krugerrands were originally minted to encourage South Africans to own gold privately; several countries followed suit with the U.S. Golden Eagle and the Canadian Maple Leaf one-ounce coins.

With the abolishment of apartheid, mini krugerrands and their larger "cousins" became legal imports to the U.S.

Today krugerrands are minted in several sizes, including mini krugerrands of one-half, one-quarter, and one-tenth ounces. Mini krugerrands are said by coin collectors to have resulted from the failure of the U.S. Susan B. Anthony dollar coin and unsuccessful attempts in 1976 to re-introduce the U.S. two-dollar bill. Unlike full-sized krugerrands, mini krugerrands are often used in South African marketplaces because of their purity in face value and ease of carrying in one's pocket or purse.

One way to make sure your mini krugerrand is genuine is to examine the "reeded" edge of the coin; there are certain numbers of these indentations on each genuine krugerrand. For example, a one-ounce krugerrand has 180 edge reeds.

The one-half ounce mini krugerrand has 150 reeds, and the mini krugerrands of one-quarter ounce and one-tenth ounce have 140 and 115 reeds, respectively. Fortunately, some thieves who attempt to make fraudulent mini krugerrands are lacking in knowledge about their "product" and produce the number of reeds incorrectly. Thus, when you buy any size krugerrand on-line or from a collector, doing your homework on how to determine the genuineness of a coin is essential. One of X-Men movie very first dog breeds that I ever photographed was a miniature poodle. You could tell he was smart...and certainly was a bit of a trickster. He would race around the studio checking on what everyone was doing...until it came time to shoot him. Each time we started to shoot he would suddenly come up with a limp and could hardly walk. As soon Daredevil we would finish our session off he would race with no sign of difficulty!

The poodle is truly a wonderful breed of dog with some outstanding qualities. The breed is generally recognized as coming in three sizes, standard, miniature and toy...though teacup poodles Space 1999 also available. They have hair rather than fur...so they are, in effect, hypoallergenic and don't shed.

Poodles are extremely intelligent and take well to training. They learn quickly...but because they also forget slowly an owner must be consistent or risk resentment. Poodles are a sturdy breed and live between 10 and 18 years and in some cases up to 21 years. They are, however, susceptible to a number of genetic health problems. Poodles are too intelligent to be "part time" pets...but need to be a regular and consistent part of their owner's lives. Poodle's coats need to be kept well groomed or their coats could become unpleasant to be around, and in extreme cases it can be a health hazard. Poodles have a great disposition...are cheerful and confident and can make a truly great companion.

My Child Will Not Be Deprived Like I Was

When I was young I had to ride my bicycle to school. During the winters I had no gloves and when I got to school, my hands were frozen for a long time afterward. Imagine writing an exam paper early in the morning with stiff fingers and a time constraint.

I first saw television when I was 17 years old. I first used a computer in my twenties, and did not own one until I was past thirty. I had to take care of my siblings, because my mother was emotionally absent and my father was physically absent - working his heart out to provide for his family.

I got my first car when I was nearly thirty and I had to buy it myself. The thought of buying me a car never even crossed the mind of my dad, even though I was the oldest child. His reasoning was that apart from the cost - I was already a liability because I went to Transformer - I was soon going to find a husband who would be able to transport me or buy me a car.

Of course when I had my child, I vowed that he would never be deprived of these things like I was. I would ensure that he would have a car, a television and a computer. I would be involved in his upbringing and know everything about his friends and his activities.

I was so proud of myself when I achieved all these things for him. When he went on to study and did not like the course, I just wanted him to be happy and he left the course. When he could not find a job, I paid him an allowance. He used the allowance to drive to a designer coffee shop every day in his own car, buy the newspapers and sit there all morning searching for a job while enjoying his coffee and cigarette.

Eventually the penny dropped (for me) and I found him a job. When he did not like the job, I sympathised with him and told him about the lousy jobs I had to do in my life to put food on the table. I also sold the house so that he had nowhere to go to if he decided to resign from his job.

It so happened that I left the country at the same time, thereby removing his entire comfort zone. By then he was legally an adult and could not claim maintenance from anyone. His friends were working or studying, and he had to look after himself - he did not even have any siblings to rely on, being an only child.

Poor boy.

However, you should see him today. He is a competent, intelligent leader that people look up to and that employers are bidding for.

The other day one of his cousins complained about the hard work that his employer expected of him. My son told his cousin about the time when he stayed in a garden shed because it was all he could afford, and how it made him grateful for what he had. He also now encourages all his cousins to take Action Man studies seriously and not make the "mistakes" he made.

When a chicken hatches from an egg, the egg does not break nicely on the dotted line. That chicken has to kick and peck and struggle until it can break the egg from the inside. It must then continue to struggle until there is enough space for it to get out of the shell. And then it must start to walk around immediately - no crawling, no help from the hen.

If you or I walk past and see the chicken struggling, we are tempted to simply break the eggshell away and help the chicken to get out. Then we are surprised when this chicken that had a good start in life, cannot get onto its feet. We are sad when this chicken becomes the prey of predators and is unable to run away fast enough.

I often hear how younger friends and relatives are trying to give their children everything they never had or always wanted but could not afford. Then I wonder what is the best for me to do - to stand on the sideline and see them learn their lesson, or to step in and say please let me tell you about my mistakes - you can still rectify yours.

But did I make any mistakes? My son and I are both better people because of what we learnt from our journey. Today he has things that money can buy, such as a car and television and computer. But far more important is that he has compassion and integrity and good judgement and a sense of humour, and money cannot buy any of those things.

A Barbie doll may bring a sparkle to the eye of a girl, but being engrossed in a fascinating book will have a more lasting impact. A new bicycle will bring joy, but earning the money to buy the bicycle will bring determination and a vision and a passion.

Anyone looking for a unique vacation destination should definitely check out Western Africa. Getting on With That Dolls' House - A Magnificent Obsession

Last week my son and his two daughters, 9 and 3, visited. For some people it is Kidrobot bit of a puzzle to know what to do to occupy your family. I knew precisely. I showed them my latest project, a big, somewhat ugly, hand-made dolls' house in need of care and attention.

In no time at all it was up on a table and we were taking its wheels off and removing the batten which 'finished' the roof. Then it was sleeves rolled up, scraping implements issued and time to get all the paper off the outside and inside of the house. I do own proper scrapers, but the 3 year old couldn't really handle one so I gave her a knife. (No, a plastic knife Iron Man movie which she enjoyed using lots!). I expected it to be a very short-term project but they complained when it was time to stop and eat. The mess was horrific, but the house was soon stripped of all the old materials and ready for rubbing down. There were two very exhausted girls at the end of the day.

They went home the next afternoon having had a great time behaving like normal children at the local activity centre. But both really enjoyed their work on the house and are threatening to come back and do some more. This could be a little more stressful, since I just know that the little one will want to wield a paintbrush along with her sister - who is actually rather messy herself still, despite the fact that she has been helping me with 1973 Topps baseball cards stuff for several years. What was a fairly disastrous-looking house is really taking shape, and I am having a ball. I have to stop myself from going on to the next task before things are dry, One way for me is to prepare the furniture I am putting into the house. This one is modern, with great big picture windows, and need modern furniture, so I am making some white chairs,tablesand cupboards which will look better than stained stuff which always looks so old-fashioned. I have made a couple of beds and will do the bedcovers when I have finished the curtains. I'm not going for anything fancy - just plain coloured duvets and pillows. That looks more up to date, and I am fighting the desire to make a 1/12 scale patchwork for the double bed. (I really love doing it but it's terribly fiddly and I haven't time)

I bought myself some gold paint and have done a few gold nobs on furniture for this house, because it looks good and seems to go - but it's probably also because I fancied a few gold nobs. When this is done I will start another new house, but I guess it may well be at least two weeks as I cannot simply work on this all the time. I am too busy with all the other things that enliven my retirement: writing, directing an amateur show, practising the piano, blogging, starting to learn Spanish, oh, and a bit of examination invigilation and drama teaching to raise some money outside the house.

The person who wondered how they ever found time to go out to work before they retired was right. I have never been so busy, nor have I ever felt so fulfilled. I leap from activity to activity with real joy. Tomorrow I am going to London to look after my little grand-daughter during the day, and visit the theatre in the evening. This Saturday I am also in London, helping out with the grand-daughters. Sunday is rehearsal day.

No, I haven't time to be bored, and if I want to have a good moan about something it has to fit in between two other equally important activities. By the time I fall into bed at around Space 1999 I am delightfully tired and I sleep really well for about six hours. I wake cheerful and ready to start again. This is the life.

There's a lot of misinformation on the web about what will Second Life money will not play on your Zune.

A recent poster in our forums summed up the confusion: "I am hoping you can answer a question for me. I have about 10 GB of music on my hard drive, over half of which I have purchased through music services such as MusicMatch and MSN. I really want to purchase a zune, but I am concerned this player won't play the music I have already purchased from reading some posts, blogs and news. Will it play my music I already have...or is all the music I have out the window? Please clear up this concern for me...I have not been able to find any answers anywhere......"

Let's give a clear answer to that question. We'll be as definitive as we can be from the information available.

In your collection, your music most likely comes from one of the four sources below. Here's what we know for each:

Music bought from iTunes Store...

...cannot be played on Zune (or on any other digital player except for iPod). This is because Apple applies its "FairPlay" digital rights management restrictions on files purchased through iTunes Store.

Music bought or otherwise acquired from sources that do not apply DRM or copy protection...

...are playable on Zune. Examples: songs ripped from CDs; illegally downloaded songs.

Music bought from Zune Marketplace...

...can play on your Zune (naturally). And, cannot be played on non-Zune players.

Music bought from sources that apply DRM protection, but do not restrict the playing of songs to particular players (eg MSN Music and other online stores)...

...does NOT appear to be playable on Zune.

We found the last point hard to believe for a long time. But it now seems clear that Zune players are made to be compatible with Zune services (eg Marketplace) only, and not music purchased elsewhere.

We draw this conclusion partly from a recent enGadget's interview with J. Allard, and from our email interactions with Zune insiders and Microsoft bloggers. In the interview, Allard indicates that "you get a Zune device, you hook it up to the Zune service, and it just works", and his other statements indicate that music purchased through PlaysForSure sources won't play on Zune.

In that regard, then, the Zune system is just as restrictive as iPod/iTunes is.

What does this mean for you? Part of that answer depends on the make-up of your current music library.

For people with large music collections of protected downloaded music, you're not going to be able to play that music on your Zune - at least without some awkward workarounds. This may affect your decision about whether to go Zune or not.

For people who don't have large purchased collections, or who are comfortable with a ZunePass subscription, the decision to go Zune is easier.

And for people who are against closed music systems in general... then neither Zune nor iPod is right for you. Stay on the sidelines and stick with PlaysForSure and other more open systems.

Your bank will never send you an email with content along the lines of "We've lost your bank account number and password... please supply them again for our records". You should also know that no bank is going to require your social security number, bank account number, and PIN number just to log in to your account or retrieve your password. Other sites such as Ebay, PayPal, and the like will not email you asking for these details either.

Even if you're sure the website is legitimate, it's not a good idea to send your details over an unsecured connection. By the way, email does not count as a secure connection, and neither does any instant messaging program, (such as MSN, ICQ, Yahoo Messenger, AIM etc.) so don't give out personal details that way either.

Another common scam very similar to phishing involves the emailing of promises of great wealth. Seriously, what do you think your chances are of winning the lottery, let alone one that you never even entered? Or of some obscure yet ridiculously rich person in Africa dying and you being legally allowed to pick up their money? Or of a foreign prince wishing to smuggle money out of his country using your account? These emails are all scams. I wish it were true that I won three different lotteries every single day, but if you get in contact with the people sending these messages they're going to do their utmost to clean out your pockets. Unfortunate as it may sound, the 'Please Donate to Charity' emails sent are usually also scams.

If you really want to donate money to a charity, look them up and send it the usual way, don't respond to a multi-recipient email that may or may not be real. You also shouldn't donate to some random charity that no one has ever heard of before. Some of the Internet lowlifes have started up fake charities, 'dedicated to helping Tsunami victims' or similar and are simply pocketing the donations.

Everything in this world can be used for either good or evil purposes and the Internet is no exception. I connected my Audio/MIDI interface (this is basically a really good sound card in an external case) to my computer using the USB cable provided. I then set up my microphone and attached the microphone cable to the MIDI interface. After installing the software, I was ready to go.

The results have been great and I find Wavelab software powerful and incredibly easy to use.

Some Audio Book recording tips

I first get my entire copy ready before starting the recording. I pin the sheets of paper with the text that I am going to read in front of me onto the wall. Then, at about 8 inches away from the microphone, I start to talk. The more natural you can be the more interesting you will sound to your listeners. I found that the best thing to do is to stand in front of the microphone and make gestures in the same way as you would when talking to a close friend. If you stand there stiff like a statue, you'll come across in the same way in your recording.

Another thing that I like to do before starting the recording is to get myself into a really good mood. Again, this will add to the impact of your recording. I always listen to a few uplifting songs and get enthusiastic before starting. You should also try to make sure that you keep the same distance from the microphone.
